Skort.

It was my friend Alex's birthday yesterday so I thought I would share what I wore to her party with you. I bought this skort a couple of weeks ago and its really comfy, it's a soft, stretchy fabric and was a really good price! (£13 from Ark) I had been looking at skorts for a while but hadn't found a pattern I liked as much as this one, the monochrome gingham is a print I'm loving at the moment. I wore it with a simple black cami from Topshop, tights and my chunky heels from Primark.

With the Birthday Girl! (Alex's playsuit was from Ark too, it was really cute!)

I also did Alex& Sue's make up last night, here's a photo I posted on my Instagram-

Homemade Halter.

So the other night I was feeling creative and wanted to do some sewing, I've been looking at patterns for a fifties style cropped halter for a while but thought to myself 'I know the basics of pattern cutting so try it yourself!'. So that's what I did, it's not amazing but I'm really quit proud of it, as a first attempt. I found this cute fabric in a bag of fabric my mamma's friend had given me and the pom pom trim I found in a draw(no idea how it got there!) Here's some (slightly posey!) photos...

Pink shoes!

So on my little online shopping spree last week I clicked my way all the way to asos, where I fell in love with a few cutie little things. Amongst the glow in the dark juju wellies and eyko eyeliner I found the most adorable pair of baby pink shoes! Which just had to be mine, I've been wanting to get some shoes like these for a while but none had quite took my fancy as much as these spring perfect little flats! So without further ado here's the little beauties, I will do an outfit post at some point but for now it's just this cheeky snap!

Ps the glow in the dark jujus and eyeko liner are the next on my shopping list! Along with a Fuji instax mini in blue!

I'm also on bloglovin now guys, so follow me! http://www.bloglovin.com/en/blog/11916565

Cigarette Pants?

Last week at college we were all talking about now cigarette pants were the most flattering trousers for girls with big hips. I wasn't sure if I agreed but tonight went ahead and ordered a gorgeous pair from topshop which are black and white gingham. I'm quite nervous for when they come cause I don't really wear jeans much never mind any trousers, the only trousers that aren't jeans I own are a pair of school trousers I borrowed off a friend and never gave back (sorry Lauren). I think they have quite a vintage look to them as in the fifties lots of women wore cropped cigerette pants, anyway I'll do I post when they come!

Clothes show!

So we went to the clothes show with college last week, it was crazy. The beauty area was amazing, so many makeup brands and hair stuff. I spent about £30 in the first ten minutes! Which I don't regret at all! First of all we went to models own where you got 5 nail varnishes for £10, and you got a free goodie pack! Then to bare minerals, I got the starter kit which is meant to be about £40 which I got for £20 that has loads in, 2 foundations, a bronzer, a setting powder, a concealer, a concealer brush, and two different face brushes- BARGAIN! I was a little disappointed with the clothes stalls, for me it was alright because they had a few nice vintage ones but most of the others were like crappy market stalls, or slutty dresses. We went to the main show which was great and we went to see this years Top Models do their thing! My favourite was Angel she's so adorable! I got a 80s velour black dress! I'm talking proper 80s, off the shoulders, rosette in the middle 80s dress! A pink spotty dress which is adorable, and a blouse that is circus themed with an elephant and a seal on!! Pastely adorableness!! I also got some sleep in rollers, sparkly of course! They're pretty good, I got free hairspray and a round brush, all this for only £10!

Here's some photos!

New Playsuit!

I fell in love with this playsuit in Ark the other week but held off from buying it for some strange reason, after days of dreaming of it I finally got my friend who works there to get it for me. It's so comfy but also looks great on! I wore it to a meal the other night and dressed it up with black tights& black wedge ankle boots(& of course good hair and makeup!) I love the pattern and the shape of the playsuit. Here's a few photos...

(Only down side to it was the toilet issue as it has a zip all the way up the back and buttons which is difficult to undo yourself!)

New Buys.

So today me and mum went to Nottingham shopping, and I got quite a few lovely things. My first buys of the day were a pair of shoes from River Island, they were in the sale for £25 down from £45! I'd say that they were a great bargain, I tried them on in brown and black but went with the black cause hey black goes with everything. I like them because they're not a boring court shoe and have nice details on them. My next buys were socks and shorts from Topshop(which I bought with birthday vouchers and only spent in money 70p!) the socks were 3 for £9 and the shorts were £15. The embellishment on the shorts is really cute and the shorts seem like they will be a easy staple piece to wear. I also bought a vintage skirt from A Vintage Obsession, which fits so perfectly. It's tartan which I love, tartan is my favourite autumn/winter pattern. So heres a few photos...

First Week at College.

So my first week of college is done. This week we spent two days doing induction work, this work was quite fun really we made 'Dolly Dresses' which were made from doodles about ourselves. They looked quite cute in the end! Here's mine:

Other than this we had chance to meet new people and get to know them, we had to find out the answers to strange questions like 'whats the strangest food you've ever eaten?' which in our group was dog biscuits, cat food & shark. My groups a quite nice group of people, I have a little group of like 4 friends who are all a quite like me.

The last day we were learning about shoes, our first project is architecturally inspired shoes. We spent some time mind mapping on different types and functions of shoes, then we did some research on Tea Petrovic who designed shoes influenced by sculptures by Nuam Gabo and Santiago Calatrava's architecture. Here are some examples their work & Tea Petrovic's shoes:

Last lesson we were looking at architecture, we had to print off different images in black and white, later on we were using these to collage over shoes we drew. This was also our homework, to design more of this type of shoes. Here's my homework designs:

The Fashion Sketchpad

I have something really cool to show you which I've had a while but never posted before, sounds boring to some but its a sketch book. Not an ordinary sketch book though one specifically designed for designing clothes. It has some pages in the front some explanation pages, a 'garment encyclopaedia', 'textile glossary', 'industry terms',  recommended reading sites and the rest is filled with 420 croquis. Another fabulous thing about it is when you photograph or scan your designs the body outlines disappear! This amazing book was created by www.thefashionsketchpad.com and you can get it on amazon for under £10! Which its definitely worth! I got mine as a present from a lovely lady called Alison.

Here's some photos!

The front is simple with little shiny silver dots all over and a 'designs by:' space for your name

The image below will take you to the book on amazon.
