The Anti-Prom Queen.

Friday night was the night of my best friend Beth's prom, but after thinking the pros and cons of prom she had decided not to go. But she still wanted to get dressed up and go out so we went out for a really fancy meal at Stones in Matlock. Which was a really lovely night, after getting through all the hectic 'prom transport traffic' there was some real 'out there' ways this year!

I found with prom that the best bit of prom was the getting ready so we got ready together and I did her hair and make up, well make up we did together as Beth likes to wear more than me! Bethany looked absolutely beautiful! We went up to the market to see her friends and get some photos, sadly it was raining so we didn't get to see most peoples dresses or get many photos.

Although what Beth wore for anti-prom was simple, she still looked glamorous and obviously like a princess which is always the aim! She also wore my gorgeous flower crown from @stephanieeveraftercrowns which is now the official anti-prom queen crown!

Christmas makeup!

For Christmas I got the Illamasqua skin trinity which is the hydro-gel, skin base foundation and skin base lift. These products are all incredible, I have had lots of problems with my skin at the moment including eczema on my eyes and very dry and itchy bloches on my cheeks, yet the hydro-veil has seemed to help these as it seems to do a lot more than just prime the skin, the skin base lift completely covers all the redness around my eyes and the foundation is so long lasting and covers all redness on my cheeks and all spots. The other Illamasqua set I got was the black Christmas gift set, this includes a pigment eyeshadow in 'Zeitgeist' which is a sparkly black, a pressed matte black eyeshadow called 'Obsidian', a sealing gel, an amazing pair of eye lashes, brow cake in 'Thunder', masquara in 'Raven', an eyeliner pencil in 'S.O.P.H.I.E', an absolutely amazing liquid eyeliner and a nude lipgloss. This set is truly fabulous, already created so many looks with it! Plus it came with a booklet on how to create different looks.

Mum's Christmas Party Makeup.

So last night was my Mum's work Christmas do, so I did my lovely mother's makeup. She wanted something quite dramatic, and something different to her usual makeup. To start her makeup I put down a base on her eyes(I always start makeup with eyes as you can clean under the eyes better without foundation being ruined after) for this base I used a Mac paint pot in 'Painterly' I then used a Dior palette with navys and greys, to create the dramatic look. I used gel eyeliner and Illamasqua's angled brush to create the sleek flicks. I then used a combination of different foundations to achieve the flawless skin look, this was done by first applying my Mac primer then applying the foundations with the Real Techniques 'Expert Skin Brush' in small circles. I filled in the brows with a Mac brows pencil in spiked, powdered over the face and applied bronzer. The final additions were adding on individual eye lashes, I had never done this before but its so easy! All you do is put some of the glue on the back of your hand, pick up one of the lashes using tweezers, dip the end of the lash into the glue, line up the lash to the lash line and place it so its secure. I found these so much better than strips of lashes as you could build up the amount of thickness and length. I also added a few little sparkly ones to the end few lashes. We then chose the lipstick and gloss and mum was ready to go!

Autumn.

So autumn is officially here with its falling leaves and beautiful colours, personally I love autumn you get to wear jumpers and on clear days everything looks so lovely and rich in colour. In autumn I love to go out and take photos of the changes, this is something I've been doing on and off for a while as me and mum used to take photos of the changes through the seasons. Today me and Will went on a little walk, as we did last year when we had just started seeing each other, which is another reason I love this season as it has lots of good memories. In autumn I try my best to wear 'autumnal colours' like browns and burgundy, which I don't really wear much of normally. I have recently found one of my dad's scarf which I may have now claimed as my own as it is so gorgeous, it's Hugo Boss and is such a lovely colour and is amazingly soft. Also last week we went on a trip to Chatsworth with college and I got some pretty nice photos so I thought i'd share them too...

 

Vivienne Westwood Ring.

 

So for my birthday my boyfriend got me this gorgeous ring, he did have a little help with me choosing it but still that's not the point! I love it, I want to wear it all the time and because its so simple and elegant I can! When we went to Vivienne Westwood they didn't have the ring in that I'd seen on the website but when I saw this one my heart melted, it was even more beautiful!

 

When we went in the man was lovely he let me try it on and was really happy to help, he put it in one of the lovely pink bags with tissue paper and sprayed it with perfume. I love it when shop assistants are like this it makes the whole trip even better, unlike when me and Sue went for our earrings and the woman looked down her nose at us. I think with designer brands the customer service should always be helpful and welcoming, when they're not it doesn't make you want to buy what you've gone for. Anyway little rant over, here's some more photos:

 

 

 

 

Sophia Webster.

So last week while reading Topshop's magazine 'the zine' I first saw the amazing shoes but Sophia Webster. They are absolutely gorgeous, fun and imaginative. Since then I have done research on her for college(our project is on shoes) which got me onto looking at her SS14 range. WOW it is amazing! All of her models at London Fashion week were made to look like bugs, sounds horrible but they looked so cute! are adorable, everything she does is so colourful and unique. Here are some photos of a few pairs of her amazing shoes!

London Fashion Week - Day 2.

So I've been having a nosey on the shows from today at London Fashion Week and wishing I was there! My two personal favourites from today so far are Orla Kiely and House of Holland. The clothing in both their shows were amazing, and the Orla Kiely show itself was so cute and creative. It looks like it would have been amazing to photograph, so much going on at once! Here are my three favourites from their collections:

 

House of Holland

I love all the colours in the SS14 collection, so many lovely pastels. I chose these three outfits as I love the colour and shape of the pink dress, it's something I would love to own as I can see that its highly influenced by the classic 1950's tea dress yet also has a 60's twist to it. The second dress I chose also has the 1950's style to it, the pattern on this dress is gorgeous too I love how harsh the roses look against the minimal colour. Lastly I like this suit again because of the contrast against the pastle blue and the black lace, the shirt has a very masculine feel due to the boxyness of it yet because of the lace it becomes very feminine.

 

 Orla Kiely

I think if I had the chance I would wear every item in the whole SS14 collection, everything is adorable. Personally I love yellow and navy together which is why I love this first outfit, it's so girly and casual. The short suit I think is fabulous, the colour is eye catching without being too bright, the pattern on it is so unique, and if you aren't completely in love with that panda bag there really must be something wrong! The last dress to me shouts sophisticated sailor, the light soft colour and synched waist would make this dress so easy to wear for spring or summer. Another thing I have to say I love about all the outfits is the socks, who knew they could look great with so many different outfits?!

 

(plus now I don't feel as silly wearing knee highs and sandals!)
